On the 20th August 2010, eight members of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch will travel to the USA to join our American Legion Rider brothers and sisters on their 5 day, 1500 mile sponsored Legacy Run, raising money for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.

The Legacy Fund was created to help ensure children of United States servicemen and women, who have lost a parent during conflict, received the education they need and deserve. The American Legion Riders are among the fund's biggest donators, creating the annual Legacy Run in 2006. To date, almost $3 million have been contributed to the Legacy Fund. Of that, almost $1 million has come from the Legion Riders' Legacy Runs.

This years USA Poppy Run will be raising money for the Poppy Appeal as well as the Legacy Fund. Orient Express have kindly donated a pair of day trip tickets on the British Pullman Carriages of the Orient Express, including brunch, an excursion at your chosen destination, and a four course table d'hote meal with champagne and wine on the return journey, a luxury prize worth in excess of £500. All proceeds raised by this raffle will be split equally between the Poppy Appeal and the Legacy Fund.
